Our daughter, took the family on a Valentine’s date to Skillets and Grill, a steakhouse located along BF Resort Drive, BF Resort, Talon Dos, Las Pinas. Expecting heavy traffic from nearby malls, we decided to go along with her plan, only to find out that a seemingly traffic free location might not be such a bad idea after all, come Valentine’s day.
So it seemed at first, we were surprised to find out that there’s a long line waiting for table space in Skillets and Grill. I really don’t have much idea that this place gets crowded regularly. Even the function hall, the one that is usually used for special occassions was full to the brim. We were actually just in front of the entrance door to the function hall at the second floor, waiting for someone to finish their dining experience.
Luckily, I chanced upon a table for four downstairs when I decided to check if guests were about to finish.
After 15 minutes of waiting, we were seated.
I was surprised that we will be able to enjoy seeing the kitchen staff preparing our meals through a glass window. Something that I regularly see in one of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s reality television shows.
My son and I picked the Corned Pepper Steak with Mushroom gravy, truly a great tasting steak choice in Skillet and Grill.
My daughter, who didn’t choose the Corned Pepper Steak, saying she just dined there the other day, preferred to order the Pork Tenderloin Steaks in Mushroom gravy instead. I had the chance to sample some and as expected, was also delicious.
My wife’s choice was Skillet’s Crispy Fried Chicken value meal, which she enjoyed so much.
My wife and I wanted to try out Pancit Isabela, Skillet and Grill’s specially made miki noodles that is uniquely served with garlic vinegar.
We discovered something cute in our orders of extra rice as they were neatly served in small “kalderos” pots.
Furthermore, the waiter offered if we would like some iced tea with our orders as they are currently on promo. We did, later to find out that Chef Ed Callueng, decided to give it to us for free, maybe because, it’s Valentine’s day or it’s possibly because it’s the first time our family dined there. Chef Ed Callueng is quite hospitable, talking to each and every guest that he has, getting to know them, most especially greeting the regulars as well.
All in all, dining in Skillets and Grill was a nice experience. I would recommend it to my friends.
